The adoption by the UN General Assembly, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, of a resolution on issues of transport and energy connectivity was published on the official website of the United Nations in six languages, reports the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN. The resolution “Strengthening links between all modes of transport to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals” proclaims 2026-2035 as the Decade of Sustainable Transport and calls for continued international dialogue in this area. In turn, the resolution “The key role of reliable and stable energy connectivity in ensuring sustainable development” is aimed at consolidating the efforts of the international community to overcome the energy crisis. It provides for ensuring the stability of cross-border energy supplies and holding a forum on sustainable energy in Turkmenistan in 2026.
