A gala reception was held in Moscow in honor of the 32nd anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan. The event was organized and hosted by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation. The gala evening was attended by deputies of the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, senior officials of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, foreign diplomats accredited in Moscow, representatives of the business circles of the two countries, heads of public organizations, scientists and cultural figures, journalists, representatives of the Turkmen diasporas in the regions of the Russian Federation. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation Batyr Niyazliyev noted that friendly and good neighborly ties between the Turkmen and Russian peoples find their logical development in the recent history of the two countries. The past years of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia have been marked by a high level of interstate dialogue and are invariably characterized by mutual support and trust in the international arena. Speaking about the development of bilateral relations, the ambassador noted that the peoples of Turkmenistan and Russia are connected by centuries-old historical ties, traditions of equal, good neighborly relations, and sincere sympathy for each other on a human level. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin warmly congratulated on the significant birth, noting the successful development of bilateral ties in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. He also emphasized the undoubted merits of the leader of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in initiating a number of creative international processes aimed at strengthening political and economic stability in the Central Asian region. The heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Moscow, representatives of the Russian scientific and cultural intelligentsia conveyed their congratulations and best wishes to the President and the people of Turkmenistan.
