Briton Kelvin Marston, while fishing on one of the lakes in Thailand, caught a giant barbel - a fish of the carp family weighing 114 kilograms and set a record, writes The Sun. The fisherman pulled the giant barbel out of the water along with his friend, father and local resident. After assessing the catch and taking a photo with it as a souvenir, the fisherman released the carp back into the lake, and a few days later another huge fish weighing 102 kilograms was caught on his fishing rod. A 114-kilogram barbel was already caught several years ago and released back, during which time its weight increased by another 10 kg. The giant barbel is the largest member of the carp family. It feeds on algae, phytoplankton, fruits and small crustaceans.
